Why I Started Golden Connections
Growing up in big city like Toronto, I’ve seen firsthand how isolating it can be. The culture here—and in many places—is fast-paced and always on the move, which can make it hard to find genuine connection. And while loneliness is something we all experience, it weighs heaviest on the older generation. We’re all connected across generations—our parents, grandparents, neighbors, mentors. Some of us are already in our golden years, and for others, that time will come. And no matter where we are in life, staying connected should not be a privilege—it should be something we all have access to.
As life gets busier, meaningful connection can sometimes take a backseat, especially for our older generation. So I urge you—to slow down. Let’s shift the way we approach social connection. Let’s start small and bring back what it means to be a community.
While community initiatives and support groups do incredible work to provide care and connection for older adults, there's still a gap - one that limits their access to meaningful engagement and opportunities. That’s where Golden Connections comes in. By creating an easy, accessible way to stay engaged, we’re making it simpler for communities to come together and support one another. We are creating a space where older adults can easily find what they need—local events, resources, communities, and services designed just for them—all in one place.
This mission is personal to me. And I know I’m not alone. If this vision speaks to you—whether you’re a business, an organization, a community leader, or just someone who knows someone who could benefit from this—let’s talk.

Because changing the world starts right here, in our own communities.
